左岸の赤ワイン
カベルネ・ソーヴィニヨン：タンニン、力強さ、酸味だけでなく、ブレンドに黒果実の色と香りも加える
メルローはより繊細で、その美しい香りと溶けたタンニンでブレンドを柔らかくするだけでなく、カベルネ・フランとプティ・ヴェルドも加える。
メドックでは、カベルネ・ソーヴィニヨンがブレンドに主に使われることが多く、メルローと、場合によっては少量のプティ・ヴェルドとカベルネ・フランが補われる。
グラーヴでは、カベルネ・ソーヴィニヨンとメルローのよりバランスの取れたブレンドとなっている。
タンニンと力強い特徴、構造、芳香の複雑さを備え、熟成の可能性は良好です。熟成すると洗練され、繊細な第 3 アロマのパレットを展開します。

左岸の白ワイン

ソーテルネ。
ボトリティス菌 (貴腐菌) が繁殖しやすい微気候で、素晴らしい甘口白ワインを生み出します。
セミヨン、ソーヴィニヨン ブラン、ミュスカデル (ブレンドに最小限の量で含まれることが多い) の 3 種類のブドウが栽培されています。
これらのワインは非常に複雑で、砂糖漬けやドライフルーツ、蜂蜜、スパイス、花の香りがあり、信じられないほどの熟成の可能性を秘めています (優れたヴィンテージでは最長 100 年)。

グラーヴとペサック レオニャン
辛口の白ワイン。フルーティーで芳香のあるワインで、ソーヴィニヨンは柑橘類やツゲの典型的な香りと、素晴らしい酸味をもたらします。
これらのワインの中には樽で熟成されるものもあり、丸みが増し、熟成能力が高まります。

右岸

Three large geographical areas are distinguished to define the Bordeaux vineyard: the left bank, south of the Garonne, the right bank north of the Dordogne, and the Entre-deux-Mers which is located, as its name suggests, between the two rivers.

LEFT BANK RED WINES
Cabernet Sauvignon : tannins, power, acidity but also color and aromas of black fruits to the blend
Merlot more delicate, it contributes to softening the blend with its beautiful aroma and its more melted tannins but also Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot.
In the Médoc, Cabernet Sauvignon is often mainly used in the blend, supplemented by Merlot and possibly minimal doses of Petit Verdot and Cabernet Franc.
in the Graves, it's a more balanced blend between cabernet sauvignon and Merlot.
Good aging potential, with their tannic and powerful character, their structure and their aromatic complexity. With age, they become refined and deploy a subtle palette of tertiary aromas.

LEFT BANK WHITES

Sauternais.
microclimate conducive to botrytis, a fungus (noble rot) that produces great sweet white wines.
three grape varieties are grown there, Sémillon, Sauvignon Blanc, Muscadelle (often in minimal doses in the blend).
These wines are very complex, with aromas of candied and dried fruits, honey, spices and flowers, and have incredible aging potential (up to 100 years for exceptional vintages).

Graves and Pessac-Léognan
Dry whites, these are fruity and aromatic wines, where the Sauvignon brings its typical aromas of citrus and sometimes boxwood as well as great acidity.
some of these wines age in barrels, which brings a lot of roundness and increases their aging capacity.

THE RIGHT BANK

• Varied soils, partly clayey
• Merlot, the king of grape varieties
• More supple, balanced and accessible wines in their youth

REDS FROM THE RIGHT BANK: THE KING OF MERLOT

In Saint-Émilion and Pomerol
Grape variety:
Merlot (Usually more than 70%)
Cabernet franc
Cabernet sauvignon

You can find other grape varieties in small doses such as Petit Verdot, Malbec or Carménère.

The wines are complex, supple, fruity and have melted tannins. These are wines for laying down, generally more quickly accessible than their neighbors on the left bank.

There are some exceptions in blending.

Chateau Cheval Blanc 50% Merlot 50% Cabernet Franc

▪️ Entre deux mers
These wines are either red or white.
Red wine is Bordeaux right bank kind of blend (main is Merlot)
White wine has quite high acidity due to the blend (main is Sauvignon Blanc) and stainless steal tank.
These wine are usually cheap and not for aging.
