アメリカンオーク材を選別し、サントリーが自社で製樽しているパンチョンは、容量が約480ℓのずんぐりとした形の樽。

ウイスキーと樽材との接触面積（容量あたり）が小さく、熟成がおだやかに進むため、スピリッツ本来の味わいをお愉しみいただけます。世界で評価されるシングルモルトウイスキー「山崎」の、バランスが良く心地よい甘味や深い熟成香には、この樽は欠かせません。
樽の中に10年から15年の間熟成します。

Puncheon barrels are made in-house by Suntory using selected American oak wood, and are stocky barrels with a capacity of approximately 480 liters.

The contact area (per volume) between the whiskey and the barrel wood is small, allowing the aging to proceed gently, allowing you to enjoy the original flavor of the spirits. This barrel is essential for the well-balanced, pleasant sweetness and deep aged aroma of Yamazaki, a single malt whiskey that is highly acclaimed worldwide.
Aged between 10 to 15 years in barrel.
